Emburoku (演武録, "a chronicle of embu") is a record of public demonstrations of classical Japanese martial arts — koryū bujutsu — filmed at shrines, taikai, and embukai around Japan.

These arts are not museum pieces. They are a living culture, carried forward by practitioners who train and demonstrate them today. This site tries to honor that: each video is placed in context, with a write-up of the ryūha it belongs to and the story of the event where it was performed.

This site carries no advertising and never will. Videos are hosted on the Emburoku YouTube channel and open there when you press play.
